Wedding in Lingen, Germany |
 |
 |
I know Germany is not Eastern Europe, but it's where
I started this trip. My friends Steffi and Martin were
getting married and I was invited to the wedding. Since
I was going to be out there in Germany anyway, I thought
to myself, "Well, I can't just come home afterwards!" And
so my idea of an Eastern European trip was born.
I flew in to Frankfurt, placing me far
from where the wedding was to take place.
From there I took a long train ride to the north-western
edge of Germany, to the quaint area around Lingen. Steffi,
the bride herself, showed up at the train station to pick
me up.
We drove off to the hotel and chatted along the way. We
hadn't seen each other in quite a while. So maybe that's
a good excuse to use for the fact that we got horribly
lost. Only after Steffi spotted the nuclear power plant
off in the distance did she exclaim, "Oh, that's where we have to
be!"
A few more wrong turns later we wove our way to the reactor
where in it's shadow sat our hotel. |
