Krakow

The train from Prague arrived at around 6 AM. I had no Polish money yet and the ATM at the train station wasn't working. On top of that the booth that converted money only took cash! All I could do was convert the last 10 Euros I had in my pocket to get cash so I could get around.

I had very little sleep on the train even though it was comfortable and I felt safe. It was just a very loud train.

I sat in the station a bit before attempting to attack the accommodations message board that passed for their tourist information booth. Nothing else was open yet.

I was then approached by someone from a youth hostel pushing rooms. She seemed honest enough and it didn't sound so bad. I figured at $12/night I could handle it for one night and then move on.

The hostel (Bursa Jagiellonska) ended up being a bit further outside of town than I wanted. The staff was real nice, and it was clean enough, but it was probably not worth it being so far out. But it was nice to just have a place to go for right now. It was a tram ride away into the Jewish quarter.

After a nap I hopped the tram back into the Old Town and got off at the Wawel (the castle, shown here).
