Zakopane Zakopane is all about hiking in the nicer months and skiing in the winter. It's much like any other ski resort around the world. Upon arrival I booked a hotel room for $25/night at a real nice hotel. I was told that it was just a 20 minute walk from the tourist booth. 20 minutes my ass! It was almost 40 minutes, uphill all the way with my huge backpack. I got blisters just from this walk and I had 3 days of hiking ahead of me! I wouldn't recommend this hotel so much.
