Christchurch Yes it's a whale. This is whale watching outside Christchurch. The original planned trip was a plane ride out, a boat ride to see the whales for 2 hours, and a plane ride back. It turned out to be too windy for the boat so we took another plane to search for whales. Their excuse is that the water would have been too choppy, but I think they just didn't want to take the boat out for the small amount of people that showed up. We only saw 3 whales, but several hundred dolphins swimming in a huge group (a "pod"). I thought the dolphins were more interesting than the dumb whales. You are here...
